In reading Carl Jung's writings, I came across his statement that he had learned about mandalas by doing one every day for four years. I immediately agreed, this is the way. This is the third time I have been bitten by the urge to mandala daily. The first time was about 15 years ago, and I was doing pastels at the time. Ten years ago I created 12 to 20 colored pencil mandalas in succession. Yesterday I began merging the liquid sky series with the mandala with the grid. I have a whole body of work based on the grid that I keep throwing away. My thanks to Terry Hope (facebook) of Menasha, WI for getting me started on grid based mandalas. I bought one of Terry's lovely grid based colored pencil drawings and after living with it for a coupla weeks, bang! , out comes all this energy. This is really fun.
This piece is signed on the back. I would hang it diagonally or horizontally with any side or corner as top. That gives you 8 different images to live with.
